Career service offices are becoming an increasingly valuable asset to students. While the process of getting a job is literally managed by the student applicant, career services professionals offer a wealth of resources and experience to aid in the career planning and development process. This assistance comes in many forms, including customized cover letter and resume preparation, networking, mock interviewing and hosting of student documentation such as letters of recommendations. It is critical for students to start the process early, i.e., don’t wait until the day before graduation, and investigate all of the services offered by your college career services office. Sometimes a career search is all about timing, and a career services office may put you in the ‘right place at the right time.’ For a hand-selected collection of respected internet sites focusing on career services, click on the “Web Resources” tab below.
