The Tennessee Technology Centers continue to serve as the premier providers for workforce development throughout the State of Tennessee. The centers fulfill the mission by:
* Providing competency-based training through traditional and distance learning instructional delivery systems of the highest quality that will qualify individuals for employment and/or advancement in jobs.
* Providing high quality training and retraining of employed workers.
* Providing high quality training that is economical and accessible to all residents of Tennessee, thereby contributing to the economic and community development of the communities we serve.
The Tennessee Technology Center at Athens strives to meet the training needs of local industry. Special industry training may be conducted for an existing business requiring additional training for its employees or a new business that requires entry-level training for prospective employees. The Technology Center will work to develop courses and provide quality training to meet those needs.
Tennessee Technology Center at Athens is effective, state-of-the-art technical training facilities located within driving distance of persons in the five-county service area. This service area includes McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, Bradley, and Polk counties.
To compete at home or in the world market, Tennessee businesses and industries need workers with a positive work ethic and world-class technical skills. To enjoy a better standard of living, Tennessee workers need to meet international skill standards in order to qualify for the jobs available from a growing business and industrial base in the state.
