Iowa Wesleyan College is a private four-year liberal arts college of the United Methodist Church located Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Full-time undergraduate enrollment at Iowa Wesleyan is approximately 800. The college is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools to offer academic program leading to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Music Education degrees. Iowa Wesleyan is recognized as a pioneer in higher education in America, founded in 1842, it is today one of the oldest coeducational colleges located west of the Mississippi River. Among its innovations include unique concepts of undergraduate lab science, career experience, and service learning. The college occupies a central campus of historic red brick buildings and modern structures, including National Register of Historic Places designates Pioneer Hall and Old Main. The college's Chapel, erected in 1896, is currently undergoing a complete renovation. Following the successful presidency of Dr. William N. Johnston, Dr. Jay K. Simmons took office as the college's 28th president in July 2008.

It is the mission of Iowa Wesleyan College to nurture an educational process that empowers its students to perceive autonomously and in mature, creative ways. This mission is accomplished through an instructional commitment to match student to curriculum; to provide vigorous, innovative teaching; and to give consisent attention to both a mastery of adaptive life skills and personalized learning. The purpose of the College is to reveal and reflect to our constituency, our ready and practical responses to a historic charge; the dynamic of liberal arts buttressed by an enduring relationship with the United Methodist Church
